Creating a Professional Showcase

Professional showcases include links to literacy and numeracy components, national teacher standards, state teacher competencies, and/or learning standards. Professional showcases are designed to show your teaching proficiencies and document your competency as an early childhood educator. The main focus should be on documentation linked to standards and reflection that demonstrates professional growth. Personal showcases and photo galleries can be freely designed without reference to meeting specific standards. A professional showcase takes more thought, as you pull together artifacts you feel show your growth as an early childhood professional. You will want to focus some of your professional showcases on the Early Reading First components in the areas of literacy and numeracy.
