Animal Farm Song
Children love to hear and identify the sounds of animals on Animal Farm Song. Activities are designed to sharpen
listening concentration, and memory skills. To get the most out of the song, use pictures of horses, roosters,
sheep, pigs, cows, and ducks as you teach the children to associate the sound each animal makes with its
picture and name. As children are ready, you can build on the song by talking ahout each animal's habits
(what they eat, etc.) or going to visit a farm of zoo where children can see the real thing.

One fine day my family and me got into our car and left the city
We went to the country to see what we could see
We saw a great big farm
There were animals here and everywhere. Some so big I couldn't help but stare
Furry ones and feathered ones, I declare
It was a great big farm
I said to my daddy, "Please let's stop! I wanna get out and take a walk/
I wonder if those animals would like to talk to a little kid like me."
The first animal that I did see was really quite willing to talk to me
He said: "Neigh! Neigh! What could that animal be?
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee!
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! The horse is talking to me
The next animal to come along sang to me a pretty song
He said: "Cock-a-doodle-do" What could that animal be
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee!
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! The rooster is talking to me
The next animal was woolly and white. Cute little ears, such a pretty sight.
He said: "Baa! Baa! What could that animal be?
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee!
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! The sheep is talking to me
The next animal was very fat. He saw a mud puddle and in it he sat.
He said: "Oink! Oink! What could that animal be?
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee!
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! The pig is talking to me
I saw an animal chewing on the hay and I said to him: "Hey what do you say?"
He said: "Moo! Moo! What could that animal be?
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee!
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! The cow is talking to me
As I was walking I heard a strange voice and I stopped real short and said: "What was that noise?"
He said: "Quack! Quack! What could that animal be?
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee!
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! The duck is talking to me
I turned to all my animal friends and I said I was sorry our visit had to end.
But I'd be back to the farm again, and I'd say good-bye till then
Thank you horse, sheep, and piggie too. And rooster I enjoyed your cock-a-doodle-do.
The duck's quack, quack and the big cow's moo. I sure like talkin' to you.
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee!
Fee-dee-dle-dee-Deedle-dee-dee-dee! I sure like talkin' to you
